MINSK DISTRICT, 1 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will open an educational complex consisting of an infant and a secondary school in the village of Borovlyany, Minsk District, on the Day of Knowledge on 1 September, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

The construction of the facility was launched in 2008 upon the instruction of the head of state.

VILNIUS, 27 August (BelTA) – A tanker with a pilot consignment of Venezuelan oil for Belarus will arrive in Lithuania in the night of August 29. If the sea is calm, then the tanker will dock at the Lithuanian oil terminal on Sunday at 8h00, informed Rokas Masiulis, director general of Klaipedos Nafta.

“We are fully ready to receive the tanker with Venezuelan oil for Belarus,” said Rokas Masiulis.

MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) – The Minsk oblast executive committee has signed 75 investment agreements, Chairman of the Minsk oblast executive committee Boris Batura told a press conference on 19 August.

The most important of them is an investment agreement with a German company to construct an up-to-date wind farm in Dzerzhinsk District. The project is divided into two phases (2011-2012 and 2012-2014).

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast welcomes the participants of the Paris-Moscow 2010 Cycling Marathon, BelTA learnt from the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

The cyclists will pass by Kletsk and Nesvizh today. In Nesvizh – Belarus’ tourist Mecca – the guests will visit the Nesvizh Castle, the town hall, the catholic cathedral church and meet with representatives of state, public, and sports organizations, and war veterans.

MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) – Renovations on Corpus Christi Cathedral in Nesvizh will be launched in September or October this year. The roof repair project was approved by the Belarusian Research and Methodology Rada for Historical and Cultural Heritage at the Culture Ministry of Belarus, BelTA learnt from the ministry.

When presenting the project, research supervisor Sergei Drushits suggested coating the main dome of the church and domes of two chapels with copper.

MINSK, 29 July (BelTA) – The Minsk Oblast has extended the geography of its export up to 98 countries, BelTA learned from the economy department of the Minsk oblast executive committee.

In January-May the Minsk Oblast traded with 133 countries. The major partners were Russia (31.1% of the total), Brazil (9.3%), China (7.4%), India (5.1%), Germany (5%), Ukraine (5%), Poland (4.6%), Indonesia (2.

MINSK, 26 July (BelTA) – Over 50 CCTV will be installed in the forests of Minsk Oblast by 2015 for fire alarm purposes, BelTA learnt from Sergei Senkevich, the chief of the department for protection, forest protection, hunting an hunting tourism of the Minsk forestry association.

Now there are 13 such systems consisting of cameras mounted on a fire tower at a height of 30-35 meters and an information processing unit.

MINSK, 13 July (BelTA) – The Minsk Oblast and the West Pomeranian Voivodeship intend to share the best practices used in local self-government. The intention was mentioned at the meeting of top executives of the Minsk Oblast administration with the Polish delegation on 13 July.

Minsk Oblast Governor Boris Batura remarked that it is a promising avenue of cooperation between the provinces, the Minsk Oblast can learn from Poland, especially the formation of the local budget.

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – The Minsk Oblast intends to introduce the cluster model for rural tourism, BelTA learned from the physical culture, sport and tourism department of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

According to specialists, the tourist cluster foresees the cooperation between farmsteads and the locals to increase the list of various services for tourists. The farmsteads actively cooperate with the locals in the Volozhin and Molodechno Regions, in the village of Komarovo of the Myadel Region.
